Client Spotlight

Rohrer's Quarry, Inc.

Generational family business...

The history at Rohrer's Quarry runs as deep as the earth it digs. A third generation family-owned limestone quarry located southwest of Lititz, Rohrer's serves its clients in stone production, lime manufacturing, concrete production, quarry drilling, vehicle service and repair, and safety services.

The story began in 1958 when Paul O. Rohrer became the sole owner of Erb's Quarry. Four years later, his sons, Donald and Wilbur joined him as partners, changing the name to Rohrer's Quarry and expanding its service to include concrete. Since then, the company has continued to grow and increase production capacity, adding a state-of-the-art mix-on-site concrete plant in 2008. Today, Rohrer's, led by Wilbur, sons Tim and Travis and Donald's son-in-law Vernon Martin, holds claim to being the only family-owned and operated quarry remaining in Lancaster County.

When it comes to family, your name doesn't have to be Rohrer to be included. The company considers its employees its largest asset, believing if they encourage their team to grow, they become an even greater asset by sharing their strengths and abilities with the organization and its customers. The dedication and longevity of Rohrer's employees is virtually unequaled.

For the past eight years, Roger North and the team at North Group have worked alongside the leaders at Rohrer's to support and encourage their development. For Wilbur and his team, being a good leader means always looking for ways to improve. Working with North Group Consultants helps give them a different perspective. "They move us out of our comfort zone and help us think outside the box.," explains Wilbur Rohrer. "They look at our organization objectively, something that is difficult for us to do ourselves. And they provide resources for us to tap into. They understand and are aligned with our values and vision as a family business."
